Concluding Remarks

As we sit safe at our mooring here in the lee of the Pitons, St Lucia, there remains little more for me to do than to wrap up this website with a long (and surely incomplete - sorry) list of "Thank you's"

THANK YOU to ....

- Seatern: a magnificent boat, she has looked after us very well. Beautifully built and superbly equipped, she has also turned out to be a wonderful sailor. Whether in light airs with the cruising chute, or in Force 8 with reefed Genoa and staysail, whether running before the wind or close-hauled she handles beautifully and behaves wonderfully. She is truly an ocean-going yacht and I have a feeling our adventures in her may just be beginning...

- Our families: all of us have received tremendous support and encouragement from our families. Bob and Brian will have been away for 6 weeks, the rest of us a little less - this must have been a burden (maybe not!!!) for our wives and kids. Thank you for all the enthusiastic and generous support and encouragement... Thanks Mum!

- Brad: the vital link between the boat and the website, Brad has done a wonderful job of not only posting the daily updates promptly (even over the weekends) but also adding significantly to the design and creativity of the site (particularly with the "Guest Book" which was an inspired addition)

- NorthShore: to Gary and all the team at NorthShore who have done an extremely professional job in both building the boat on time but also staying very close to our movements over the last year, enormously willing to continue to offer support, service, modifications etc though out the twelve months since launch up until the trip....

- The Skipper: BNM has been the driving force behind this adventure in all respects. From his initial decision and commitment, through building and equipping the boat, through planning the trip, victualling, and through his role as Skipper on board, there is almost no element of this trip that has not been driven by BNM. He has been generous in all respects: in terms of time invested, energy, good humor, attention to detail and not least, footing the bill! He has provided the rest of us with a safe and memorable experience. Not many sons have the opportunity to do this with their fathers - I am enormously grateful for this unique opportunity to "live my dream".
